Carville (San Francisco, California)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carville is a former neighborhood in the Sunset District of San Francisco, California, United States, located near the intersection of 47th and Lawton.[1]
Carville was active between the 1890s and the mid 1920s when the city burned out most of the houses to make way for new development.[2] The neighborhood is notable for the reuse of abandoned cable cars in housing construction, a few examples of which still remain.[3]
