The Cartier Railway (AAR reporting marks CRC, QCM) s a railway that operates 416 kilometres of track in the Canadian province of Québec. It is operated by the Cartier Railway Company, a subsidiary of the Québec Cartier Mining Company. The railway connects the company's iron ore mine at Mont-Wright in Northern Québec with the port at Port-Cartier, on the northern side of the St. Lawrence River.
Along with the other Northern Quebec railways (such as the QNSL and the Arnaud Railway, this is part of a currently isolated network, as it does not connect to the North American railway network at this time.
Nov 2007: Now connected by car ferry to Matane.
The railway forms a double-link from Sept-Îles to Labrador City, following Route 389 closely, while the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway travels due north, through the wilderness.
