Carpatho-Rusyn Society

The Carpatho-Rusyn Society (C-RS) is an American nonprofit organization promoting Rusyn culture in the United States as well in the homeland in east Central Europe.
Established in 1994 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, C-RS has over 1,700 members worldwide. John Righetti has been its president and spokesman since its inception. The group's flagship publication is The New Rusyn Times.
From 1998 until 2007, C-RS and The Andy Warhol Museum presented an annual festival celebrating Rusyn culture alongside the art of Andy Warhol, one of the most influential 20th century American artists and himself of Carpatho-Rusyn descent.
In 2004, the C-RS purchased the historic former St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral (Pittsburgh) in Munhall, Pennsylvania and plans to convert it into the nation's first National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural Center.
