Carlos Febles

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carlos Febles (born May 24, 1976 in El Seibo, Dominican Republic), is a retired professional baseball player who played second base in the Major Leagues from 1998-2003. Febles is now the hitting coach for the Lancaster JetHawks of the California League.

A highly touted prospect in the late 1990s, Febles burst onto the scene in 1999, drawing hype as a potential Rookie of the Year candidate and one of the best glovemen in the game. Along with Carlos Beltran, he became part of the "Dos Carlos" team in Kansas City. After a hot start however, Febles' hitting cooled off, and he would continue to struggle at the plate for the next three seasons. It was not until 2003 that the Royals finally gave up on Febles, but not before he had logged the third most games at second base in Royals' history.
