Cardboard children scam
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A cardboard children scam is a scam in which young children, usually in groups of 6 to 10, carrying cardboard signs approach a tourist and make a loud scene by begging or screaming. The message on these cardboard signs are usually pleas, such as "Food please," and are intended to distract the tourist as the children remove any items from their wallet or pockets.
Cardboard children scams generally take under 30 seconds to execute. The best way to evade such an attack is to clutch your wallet in your pocket and run to a public place, drawing attention to yourself.

This scam can be heartbreaking because it involves small children. The actual best solution is to grab the closest one, pull their pants down, and give them a hard spanking. It's terrible but effective. Happy trails!
