[edit] Capalopress

With regards to your request at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Content review, if you wish to question the deletion of your article and have been unable to contact the administrator who deleted it—generally it is best to do so at the administrator's talk page rather than via e-mail—you may follow the steps at Wikipedia:Deletion review to request that the deletion be overturned. The article was deleted because it was judged as overly promotional. It was also misnamed, being listed at "Capalopress" rather than under the title of the program. While this was not a factor in its deletion, it is also generally inconsistent with our manuals of style. Deletion Review is for articles the deletion of which may have misjudged policy. I do not think this is likely to be the case, though you are, of course, welcome to follow the process to determine if other editors will feel differently.

Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline sets out some of the difficulties editors encounter when attempting to work on articles of special interest to them. These types of edits are discouraged precisely because Wikipedia has noted these issues. Promotion is contrary to the encyclopedia's purposes to the point that I'm afraid even your username is inappropriate, as matching "the name of a company or group, especially if the user promotes it". Generally, persons closely associated with a subject are encouraged to request an article's creation by others, either at requested articles or on the talk page of an associated WikiProject. It is not impossible to work on an article when a conflict of interest exists, but it can be very challenging to survive the scrutiny given to company or product articles under such circumstances.

Keeping in mind the above, it is not forbidden for you to create a new version of this article, although you should not do so under the username Capalopress. The article should conform to our style guidelines, assert the notability of the program and maintain neutrality. The information should be verifiable by specific citations of reliable, secondary sources, distinct from the company's own PR releases or websites.

I am temporarily placing the information, as you requested, in userspace at User:Capalopress/temporary. Please note that this information cannot remain long in userspace, per Wikipedia's policies. If kept too long, the page may be deleted. If you do not often visit Wikipedia, there is a chance it may be deleted before you've had the opportunity to review it. Once you have reviewed it, please add {{db-userreq}} to the top of the subpage so that administrators know you have finished with it.

I hope that you will find this helpful. If I may be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact me at User_talk:Moonriddengirl. Please sign any comments you leave with your username by typing ~~~~ before hitting save. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:42, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
