• I got this email from Byrant, the photographer, on 2007-09-10

"I got permission from the city of Newport News, the owner of the painting, to take pictures of the painting and publish them. I would think they keep the painting in the public domain, but I'm not sure. Feel free to change it to fair use, it that would be better.

I am changing the license from {{PD-self}} to {{Non-free 2D art}} as the painting itself is likely not in the public domain. If anyone can get written copyright clearance from the Newport News, this can be changed to a free license or PD.
