Capstone Turbine Corporation NASDAQ: CPST, incorporated in 1988, is a California based gas turbine manufacturer that specializes in microturbine power and heat cogeneration systems. Capstone has sold and shipped more than 6,000 of these one-moving-part systems worldwide. It is the only microturbine manufacturer of oil-free gas microturbines, made possible with the use of foil bearings.
The company sells products for electrical power generation, cogeneration, biogas-fueled renewable energy, and hybrid vehicle power. It has Microturbine offerings in the following sizes: 30 kW, 60 kW, 65 kW and 200 kW. Capstone is a supplier of Microturbines to UTC Power's PureComfort System product.
