If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, i.e Ho Yeow Sun, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- Editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- Participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- Linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam)
- You must always avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, attribution, and autobiography.
Such cases may be refered to the COI Notice Board when they cause disruption to the encyclopedia as reported by any uninvolved members of WP:FACT or RC Patrollers, which may lead to accounts being blocked next and embarrassment for the individuals and groups who were being promoted. I'm a member of WP:FACT, and I've read Ho Yeow Sun & its talkpage previously & as such, verified (I've access to newspaper archives) & edited the statement accordingly so as to give balance coverage on the issue concerned earlier. In view of the on-going edit-warring, I've recommended the affected parties concerned (in my edit summary) to refer the case to WP:BLP Noticeboard again so as to settle this issue once & for all, for the common good of Wikipedia. If u continue with your disruptive acts again, I'll follow-up next in reporting u formally for engaging in troll-like behaviour, bad faith reverts, possible sockpuppetry and COI in Wikipedia, according to your disruption & edit history to date as mentioned above. -- Aldwinteo (talk) 05:12, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
