ID#: 3192 Description: This is an image of a SABHI agar plate culture of the fungus Candida albicans grown at 20°C.

Candida albicans lives in or on numerous parts of the body as normal flora. However, when an imbalance occurs, such as when hormonal balances change, C. albicans can multiply, resulting in a mucosal or skin infection called Candidiasis.
