The Canon EOS 100 (EOS 100QD in Japan, EOS Elan in North America) was a 24x36mm auto-focus SLR camera, introduced by Canon in 1991.

Aimed at the 1991 prosumer market, EOS 100 is the world's first AF SLR camera which incorporated the concept of silent operation. The silent mechanisms reduced film advance noise and rewind noise by one-eighth to one-half the level of previous models. Like its previous EOS model, it is incorporated a certain number of Custom Functions (CF) and one of them is to turn off the auto-rewinding when the roll of film is finished, making it excellent to be used in environment requiring extreme quietness, such as opera, library, museum, etc.

EOS 100 is also notable for being one of the first non-pro EOS cameras to have a 'quick control dial' on the rear. A polycarbonate rather than metal body, the 100 also featured the first 'zoom flash' built into an EOS camera (capable of TTL and A-TTL functions). The EOS 100 also inherited the barcode function from the EOS 10s, whereby you can 'scan' specific barcodes to upload picture settings to the camera (Canon released a booklet containing 100 such barcodes along with this camera). This feature turned out to be unsuccessful and was discontinued in the subsequent EOS models.
