Canning railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
'Canning' was a station on the Liverpool Overhead Railway. It was formerly known as Custom House, due to its nearby location to Custom House, Liverpool, which was heavily bombed during The Blitz. The station opened in 1893 & closed in 1956, along with all the other stations on the line, due to the colossal cost for replacing the corroded decking, which could not be funded by the LOR company.
