Cannibal Apocalypse (also known as Apocalypse domani) is a 1980 horror film directed by Antonio Margheriti, written by Margheriti and Dardano Sacchetti, and starring John Saxon.

[edit] Plot

The film opens with a flashback to the Vietnam War, where Norman Hopper (Saxon) is bitten by fellow P.O.W. Charlie Bukowski (John Morghen), who is infected with a virus which leaves people with a craving for human flesh. In Atlanta, Georgia, some years later, Hopper wakes up from a nightmare about this incident, and then receives a phone call from Bukowski, who invites his old comrade out for a drink. Hopper turns him down, remembering the incident in 'Nam. It is revealed that Bukowski has given in to his desire for flesh, and after biting a woman's neck, he goes on the run and barricades himself in a department store building, armed with a shotgun. As the virus spreads, Hopper soon joins his fellow vets in wreaking havoc on the city.
