Canada's Sports Hall of Fame
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Canada's Sports Hall of Fame is a hall of fame located in Toronto and established in 1955 to "preserve the record of Canadian sports achievements and to promote a greater awareness of Canada's heritage of sport."
From 1955 to 2006, it was located on the grounds of Exhibition Place in a building which also contained the NHL-sponsored Hockey Hall of Fame from 1961 to 1993, when the hockey hall moved to its present location in the downtown core at Yonge and Front Streets. In 2006, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame closed and is currently looking to relocate, as the building it occupied was partially torn down, with remaining sections incorporated into BMO Field.
