User:Camaron/Adminship recall/Policy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I, Camaron (talk • contribs • blocks • protects • deletions • moves), have committed myself to face administrator recall under this policy if a group editors in good standing ask for it. My administrator recall can take the format of a resignation of my adminship or a possible binding re-run of my request for adminship. Note that users may still start a case about me relating to my adminship at Wikipedia:Requests for comment or Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration, which are outside the recall process, and hence this policy. However, I will respect and co-operate with any requests made relating to my adminship in these processes.

[edit] Recall petition process
- One or more editors must declare on my user talk page at User talk:Camaron that they wish to make a petition to recall my adminship. I will accept the case if at least one of the users requesting the petition is a experienced editor in good standing,[1] otherwise the recall request will be dismissed.
- If I accept the case, a clerk of my sole choosing will be appointed to monitor the petition as it progresses so it runs smoothly.
- As soon as I a clerk is appointed, a page in my userspace will be created at User:Camaron/Adminship recall/Petition X to begin the petition. The 'X' should be be replaced with the number of the petition, for example the first petition should be at User:Camaron/Adminship recall/Petition 1. The case should be listed appropriately at User:Camaron/Adminship recall.
- On the created page the first section should detail the basis of the petition, including the reasons why it has been made. Underneath three sections should be created, one for signatures of certified petitioners which are experienced editors in good standing,[1] another for uncertified petitioners who are not experienced editors in good standing,[1] and another for signatures of users who's status is not yet known.
- The clerk is empowered to move signatures from the unknown section to the certified or uncertified sections as appropriate, and also to make sure the petition process continues to follow the spirit of this policy.
- Additional sections on the petition page may be created for discussion only, which will have no direct impact on the results of the petition, of which any user may participate in.
- After the petition page has been open for 7 days the clerk will count the number of signatures of users in the certified petitioners section. If the result is less than 8 signatures the petition will be dismissed. If the result is 8 or more signatures the petition will be certified. The result will then be announced on the petition page and at User:Camaron/Adminship recall.
- In the event of a petition been certified, I will either begin the resignation process or the reconfirmation request for adminship process within 7 days of the petition result been announced.
[edit] Reconfirmation request for adminship process
- If following a recall petition been certified I choose to follow the reconfirmation request for adminship process; I will make a request at M:Requests for permissions to have my adminship privileges on the English Wikipedia removed.
- I will then begin a request for adminship at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship via the normal procedures of this Wikipedia process as a self-nomination. This shall be recorded at User:Camaron/Adminship recall.
- This request for adminship will have a binding result, I will make sure the bureaucrats as a group are aware of this. This means that if the request is successful, I regain adminship privileges, if it is not successful, I do not regain adminship privileges. If I (or a bureaucrat) withdraw my request, it should be treated as not successful.
- After the request for adminship has run for 7 days, a bureaucrat will close it either as successful or not successful. The result will then be announced at User:Camaron/Adminship recall. If it is successful a bureaucrat will give back my adminship.
- If I loose my adminship via this process it should be treated as "under the cloud". I reserve the right to request my adminship privileges be regained in another request for adminship at any time.
[edit] Resignation process
- If following a recall petition been certified I choose to follow the resignation process, I will make a request at M:Requests for permissions to have my adminship privileges on the English Wikipedia removed. This shall be recorded at User:Camaron/Adminship recall.
- If I loose my adminship via this process it should be treated as "under the cloud", I may only regain adminship through another request for adminship.
- By choosing this process I agree to not be an administrator for a minimum of 90 days after resignation, to give the community a reasonable length of time to review my edits and actions post-resignation.
[edit] No double jeopardy
Once a recall petition concludes for an issue or incident raised by petitioners, I reserve the right to dismiss later recall requests regarding the same issue or incident. If however a new issue or incident arises, the community is welcome to initiate another recall request.
[edit] No vexatious litigation
No user may support or initiate a recall petition relating to my adminship more than once within any 30 day period, and no more than 3 times within a 365 day period.
[edit] Commitment
This policy is about my commitment to the community to be accountable and to to be open to having my adminship recalled, not about being a member of Category:Administrators open to recall. This policy will still apply even if Category:Administrators open to recall is deleted, renamed, converted to a list, or changed significantly in any way. Withdrawal from this category will not result in this policy no longer applying - this policy will only cease to apply if I make a written statement on Wikipedia clearly saying this.
I intend not to withdraw from this policy or from Category:Administrators open to recall.[2] I promise not to withdraw from this category or policy to escape the consequences of my commitment. This means I promise not to withdraw from this policy or remove myself from Category:Administrators open to recall while a recall of my adminship is under way,[3] and any such action would not come into effect until 14 days after it is announced and implemented.
[edit] Policy changes
I reserve the right to change this policy at any time. Any change to this policy which makes it more difficult for a recall petition to be certified, or favours conservation or re-gaining of my adminship, will not come into effect until 14 days after the change is made.[4] Any change to this policy which does not make it harder for a recall petition to be certified, and does not favour conservation or re-gaining of my adminship, will come into effect immediately after the change is made.[5]
[edit] Feedback
I welcome any feedback to this policy on it's talk page.
[edit] Notes
- ^ a b c In this policy, a experienced editor in good standing is a user who is either:
- A user, who is an administrator on the English Wikipedia, and has been a member of Category:Administrators open to recall for at least 30 days.
- A user, with an account which has been registered for at least 180 days, who is not an administrator on the English Wikipedia, and has accumulated at least 1000 non-deleted edits on the English Wikipedia, of which at least 300 must be in the mainspace. This user must not have had any blocks (blocks by me are exempt), bans, or sanctions from the Arbitration Committee, English Wikipedia community, or Jimmy Wales in effect within the last 180 days.
- ^ Due to the future being possibly unforeseeable, this not a promise.
- ^ This includes either a recall petition or a reconfirmation request for adminship being in progress.
- ^ An example would be an increase in the number of users needed to certify a recall petition.
- ^ This includes neutral or trivial changes. An example would be a reduction in the numbers of users needed to certify a recall petition, or a change in internal links on this page.
