In Japan, it is not considered as to be a true Camellia as the Japanese call it ‘Sazankwa’ meaning the 'plum-flowered tea'

Changing the spelling of the Japanese name to standard form (Sazanka), and removing the imputed meaning of the name which is not supported in the referenced source and incorrect to the editor's knowledge. --D. Meyer 05:15, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
