[edit] Removed criticism

Although it is fairly obvious that the Pre-U will mostly be offered at independent schools, Cambridge says it will be designed to be suitable for for independent and maintained sector schools. Although the infrastructure requirements are likely to be expensive and restrict application of the curriculum to independent and maintained schools in affluent LEAs, it is not fair at this stage to criticise it for being perceived as "elitist".

[edit] Extra Marks

Students who sit all their exams in a single session get 4 extra marks? Most absurd idea ever. How on earth does this test intellect or knowledge? 78.86.145.114 (talk) 00:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I presume that the idea is that it is harder to do them all in one sitting due to the fact that you are having to revise all the subjects at once, rather than dedicating your revision to one subject. Also, if they were all or some were to be sat on the same day, you are unlikely to perform as well in the last exam as had you sat that exam on its own. TomPhil 17:15, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I understand the argument. But to me the logic simply fails. Earning 4 marks for simply entering to do all your exams on a single day is ridiculous. I could go in not do anything and still earn 4 marks.78.86.145.114 (talk) 02:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
