From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Camilla Dallerup (born 1974 in Aalborg) is a British based Danish ballroom dancer.
Dallerup has been dancing from the young age of two, when her mother took her to her first class in Aalborg. Soon, Camilla won the Danish Junior Championships at the age of 12. She moved to England where she competed with Brendan Cole, who also became her boyfriend. In 2003 Dallerup and Cole were placed 3rd in Latin American at the UK Closed Championships.
In 2005 after the second series of Strictly Come Dancing, she co-hosted the CBBC show Dance Factory along with Nigel Clarke and Reggie Yates.
She has appeared on all five series of Strictly Come Dancing and the break up of her nine year relationship with fiancé and dance partner Cole was publicised, due to rumours that Cole had had affair with BBC News newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, who was Cole's "Strictly" partner at the time.
Following the first series of Strictly Come Dancing Dallerup trained Travis Oliver and choreographed his rumba for the movie Everything To Dance For, in which Brendan also starred.
Dallerup is now dancing with fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional, Ian Waite. They were placed 2nd for Latin American at the 2005 UK Closed Championships.
During her time on Strictly Come Dancing she has partnered:
- Series 1 - David Dickinson, voted out in the third week.
- Series 2 - Roger Black, voted out in the sixth week.
- Series 3 - James Martin, with whom she reached the semi-final.
- Series 4 - Ray Fearon, voted out in the sixth week.
- Series 5 - Gethin Jones, with whom she also reached the semi-final.
