Cambridge University Department of Chemical Engineering

The Cambridge University Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Cambridge is one of the smaller departments in the university. The main site is situated at Pembroke Street, to the south of Cambridge city centre. The department is the primary centre for chemical engineering teaching and research activities in Cambridge, and is currently headed by Professor Lynn Gladden.[1]

The department's research areas are microstructure engineering, measurement techniques, processes and modelling[2].

The department is mostly situated in the Shell building on the new museums site, a collection of university buildings and museums in the city centre. The department is set to merge with the department for biotechnology and eventualy enter a single building on the west Cambridge site. The Magnetic Resonance Research Centre is already situated at the west cambridge site.
