[edit] Did Calvin Fairbank Graduate From Oberlin?

No. Although several references, including the books by Frances K. Eisan and by Randolph Paul Runyon, indicate that Fairbank graduated from the seminary at Oberlin (then called Oberlin Collegiate Institute), Fairbank was actually enrolled in the "preparatory division," a program intended to ready students for more rigorous studies. He did not graduate. My source for this information is Mr. Ken Grossi, Associate Archivist, Oberlin College Archives. User:Cuppysfriend, July 28, 2005.
