Talk:Call for Help

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the "Online Distribution" section should the Bittorent Tracker at http://cfhtracker.info/ be discussed? Although Leo and Rogers are all aware of its existence, the site is in no way officially connected with G4techTV Canada, Rogers Communications, G4 US, Comcast Communications, Leo Laporte, or anyone else connected with the show.!!

In the "United States origin (May 1998 – May 2004)" section it says "The final United States edition of Call for Help, taped two days prior, aired on May 21, 2004." Two days prior to what??? 24.22.137.77 06:48, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Contradiction?

"It is said that the show will be revamped with an American audience in mind and Call For Help will broadcast in HD for the first time."

What does this mean by having an "American audience in mind" and why would it even matter since the show isn't broadcast in the United States anyways? NorthernThunder 21:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

-- The show is being geared for an American audience to attract American networks to pick up the show...in America. This was also a motivation for the HD format and move to Vancouver. MediaRight 23:29, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

The format change to a Screensavers like format along with HD is likely to get it picked up by a niche HD network in America. - Mike Beckham 03:12, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
The HD change is probably because in 2010: all Canadian TV channels must broadcast in HD. Cavenbatalk to me 02:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Lab Changes

So how are we doing this? Make the Call For Help page about the Canada and American run and start a new page for The Lab? I think that's the way to go. It's a new show and this page is full enough as it is without adding another section. - Mike Beckham 05:59, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

It's just a new page68.211.197.207 03:02, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grammer

Several lines, if not paragraphs have almost every word in a sentence capitalized.

Grammar seems to be a large issue in this article as bad English is written throughout it. Not to say mine is any better but someone should revamp most of this article.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Call for Help.jpg

Image:Call for Help.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
