Shouldn't this mention the mass murder that occured on campus in the 70's? (7 or 8 people shot to death in the library) Not mentioning this fact seems less than forthcoming. I'll try to add this later on if nobody else does.

---Actualy it was some janator who staked out the top floor of the Humanities building and started popping off people in the quad infront of the library. As I recall anyway. As I also recall it was that, and a spate of sucides, that lead to the enclosure of the balconies in the Humanities building.

  • Absolutely incorrect. Edward Charles Allaway (a janitor) killed seven fellow university employees in the basement and first floor of what is now known as Pollack Library on the morning of July 12th, 1976. Two other victims were wounded and survived. While he used a .22 caliber rifle in the crime, NO SHOTS were fired from any building. The jumping suicides from the Hall of Social Sciences and Humanities have NOTHING to do with the Allaway massacre. T.E. Goodwin 09:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

You should. Its pretty important.

Done. I'm working on adding a lot more things.

What about the half a nuclear reactor that melted down or something in the 60s (when the atom was our friend). Because of it you cant go to half of the basement the old science building. I swear I lost a couple points off my sperm count by using that computer lab right by the leadlined "KEEP OUT RADIATION HAZARD" doors.

  • Again, absolutely incorrect. The "old science building" is known as McCarthy Hall. The research reactor was in the basement and was utilized by members of the Physics faculty and graduate students for research. There was NEVER a fissionable accident or "meltdown." The doors were NOT leadlined, although standard radiation warning signs were posted as required by law. T.E. Goodwin 09:27, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:CSUF Stacked C.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. [edit] "Fastest Growing" claim

I took the liberty of the rewording the first sentence in the introduction section. The old version claimed that CSUF "...is the fastest growing California State University campus." This is obviously impossible, as CSULB narrowed the enrollment gap over the last year (see CSU Statistical Reports. The author may have been referring to a form of growth other than enrollment figures, but if so, it should have been stated. --Foolishgrunt (talk) 18:01, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Athletics and CSO

Wit the recent success of the team, it's nice to see people take interest in adding onto the men's basketball portion. However, this season gets an excessive amount of coverage and the mention of the starting players is redundant. I am going to narrow it down so it is more balanced with the 1978 season. Amiaheroyet (talk) 23:03, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I also noticed that the portion discussing the Community Service Officer Program is rather detailed and biased. As much as I respected the 'uniformed officers' of our campus, it distracts away from other parts of the article. This will also be shortened Amiaheroyet (talk) 00:52, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
