Talk:California SB 1827
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Creating this page (it's my first one, so sorry if I didn't get formatting or the naming right. Please correct anything you can!). I think this is going to be a big issue as people start to understand the ramifications and complications of this bill. I was searching for info on when this law would take effect for myself and didn't find anything on Wikipedia.
From what I'm reading, there will be lots of complications to be ironed out over the next year and this would be a great place to summarize those changes as they are decided. One example I saw showed that domestic partners will need to prepare their normal (single) federal tax forms, but then also prepare a federal tax form using a married status to use as a base for a California married return. Seems simple, but what of deductions that single taxpayers can each take advanatge of that aren't doubled for married taxpayers.
Thanks for any help you can provide in summarizing the info you have here for future searchers. --Robb0995 05:47, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
