Description	English: Bust of Gaius Caligula, emperor 37-41 AD. The emperor wears a beard as a sign of mourning for the death of his sister Drusilla in 38 AD. The smooth aspect and sensible surface of the representation are reactions against the academism of the end of the reign of Tiberius. Marble, ca. 39-40 AD, found in Thrace. Français : Buste de Gaius Caligula, empereur 37-41 ap. J.-C. L'empereur porte la barbe en signe du deuil de sa soeur Drusilla morte en 38 ap. J.-C. L'aspect souple et la surface sensible de la représentation sont des réactions contre l'académisme de la fin du règne de Tibère. Marbre, v. 39–40 ap. J.-C., découvert à Thrace.
