Calvine High School, located in North Elk Grove area of Sacramento, California. is one of three fully accredited continuation schools in the Elk Grove Unified School District. It serves students in 11th and 12th grades.^[1]

Calvine High School was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the former Omochumnes High and Pioneer High, which were established in 1974 and 1981 respectively. It one of a few alternative schools that was specifically designed as a continuation program.

Calvine students have participated in many curricular activities such as Marsh Madness, which was a youth leadership program. This program helps train Calvine high school students to mentor elementary school students on all aspects of existing natural resources, Some other activities that Calvine students experienced are things like "In a Blink of an Eye" which showed students here at Calvine what can happen when teenagers do illegal street racing, people can lose their lives. Other activities that have been going on with this school the nimbus fish hatchery which students would observe the final stages of salmon migration. There are many activities here at Calvine that can offer such a great experience.

Calvine students participate in a rigorous service learning program using nearby areas for environmental studies. Students learn in a non classroom environment while taking part in community enhancing projects fostering real world learning.

There are five staff members at Calvine, and twelve credentialed and highly qualified teachers, all supporting student learning in a caring environment.

Calvine High School does not have a uniform policy, although it does have a strictly enforced dress code for all students. Day care is not offered before or after school. Students may attend morning or afternoon sessions depending on their personal needs and work or other activity schedules.
