[edit] Plot Synopsis
The story is about on an outcast named Ricky Beamer who is made fun of by a group of bullies. Tasha McClain is the head of the school newspaper and she fires Ricky over events that were not his fault. After dark he sneaks into the school and puts a tiny message on the front page of the school newspaper to say "Calling all creeps. Calling all creeps. If you're a real creep, call Tasha after midnight." Only something goes wrong, and he gets calls by reptilian like beasts that call themselves "Creeps." Tasha had caught the prank just in time and changed it: "Call Ricky after midnight." It turns out the four bullies are the Creeps and they saw the message in the paper. They believe Ricky is their Commander. They plan to put identity seeds in the school bake sale cookies to turn all the other students into Creeps. After realizing that he cannot stop them, he goes along with the plan after learning that once the other kids become Creeps, Ricky will be their ruler and they will become his slaves so he eats a cookie to become a Creep.
[edit] Differences between the book and the TV version
- In the book the creeps are purple and in the show they are orange.
- Another difference is that in the show Ricky's friend tells him not to eat the seeds while in the book she doesn't speak.
- In the TV show there are 3 creeps. In the book there are 4.
