Call of Silence (NCIS)

Call of Silence is an episode of the drama television series NCIS.

A now elderly United States Marine veteran and WWII Medal of Honor recipient, Ernie Yost brings his old service pistol to NCIS headquarters, claiming the pistol is evidence he murdered his buddy on Iwo Jima. Gibbs and his team set out to prove him innocent. Yost is played by actor Charles Durning, a former WWII US Army Ranger and veteran of the D-Day assault on Normandy. Durning was himself awarded with the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts, as well as a Good Conduct Medal. For his performance in this episode, Durning was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
