Calgro is the official name used by the city of Calgary, Alberta to describe its biosolids-to-land program.
Calgro began in 1983 as a project between the Province of Alberta and Calgary to use biosolids as fertilizer. The program determined that injecting the material directly into the ground was the most effective method of using biosolids.
