[edit] Fair use for Template:BMovie

This image is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (DCGeist) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. it is a low resolution copy of a movie poster;
  2. it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the film or poster in any way;
  3. copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the artwork on another poster; and
  4. the image is significant because it illustrates (a) a significant and representative 1970s B/exploitation movie, (b) a representative movie produced by the "King of the B's", Roger Corman, (c) a representative movie by a director who started in B pictures and graduated to A films, Jonathan Demme, (d) the marketing of such movies during the later history of Hollywood B movies, and (e) the contrast in representative genre and marketing with the earlier film whose poster is depicted in the template alongside it.

Note: The template is intended to appear only in those articles that are part of the B movie series—B movies (Hollywood Golden Age), B movies (Transition in the 1950s), B movies (The exploitation boom), and B movies (1980s to the present). It is believed that the image's fair use in the template is applicable to the template's use in the articles of this series alone.
