Cadder is a district within East Dunbartonshire 7 km north of the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated 0.5 km south of the River Kelvin, and approximately 1.5 km north-east of Bishopbriggs. It should not be confused with a City of Glasgow council housing scheme (estate) of a similar name, but generally pronounced Caw-der, in the district of Lambhill which was built in the early 1950's.
In antiquity, Cadder was the site of a Roman fort. [1] Cadder House was a property held by the Stirling family for generations. <http://gdl.cdlr.strath.ac.uk/smihou/smihou014.htm Glasgow Digital Library "Cadder House"</ref>
Cadder has a well-known cemetery. [2]
