I'm from the Netherlands. I was born in Schagen, a small town in North Holland and currently live in Leiden. I'm not really deeply committed to that country, the only thing I really like about the Netherlands is that it's very open to the rest of the world: any Dutch pupil learns several languages and the Dutch tend to travel around the world. I also indentify strongly with the European Union.

I took Dutch, English, French, German, Latin and Ancient Greek in high school. Due to linguistic similarities with those languages I can read Frisian, Afrikaans, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Danish.

I travelled all around (Western) Europe and undertook two trans-atlantic travels to the US in 2004, to experience the US elections as an intern at the Green Party and to Chile in 1998-1999, to attend the World Jamboree.
