[edit] Conscientious objector
Vivian is categorized as a conscientious objector, but there is no reference to this in the article. Can anybody confirm the accuracy of this claim? Cgingold 02:00, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- The sources don't say it, but the timing is right. Graduating from high school in 1942 would have made Vivian draft age during World War 2 and, like Bayard Rustin, Vivian may have been a CO. I'd like to improve this article in general, but I'll see if I can find anything that discusses whether he was a conscientious objector. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 00:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
