The Montijo bay is well know for it sport fishing (tuna and wahoo), diving and whale watching. The Cebaco island is located right under another island called Governadora which is a smaller island with a town as well and near Coiba as well. The distance from Cebaco to Coiba is estimated to be 2 hours on a panga boat with a 40 horse power outboard engine and the distance from Governadora is just 5 min from Cebaco. The main access to Cebaco island from Puerto Mutis which is a local port from Santiago or a panga boat ride from Playa Reina in Mariato. Isla Cebaco is fairly large island and takes about 2 hours to go around it on a panga boat with a 40 hp motor. The island is full of wildlife within its forest and some large private properties that have teak plantations. Besides from the fishing Cebaco offers great surf on the southern coast. However, it is a wave that tends to only be good in dry season. During Panama's rainy season (April-December) the Cebaco surf break tends to get onshore after 11 am so it's basically important to surf in the morning and only mid to high tide and falling.
