This image is of a drawing, painting, print, or other two-dimensional work of art, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the artist who produced the image, the person who commissioned the work, or the heirs thereof. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of works of art
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
This image is fair use for these reasons:
- It is a scan of an item in my personal collection of magazines that can be freely bought.
- It was published in The Bystander in 1926. The magazine no longer exists.
- It is a low resolution image.
- The biography needs at least one example of the type of work the artist did for magazines during his career as an illustrator.
- The Estate of Edmund Blampied, the artist in question, have given approval for the use of this image, and I can provide written evidence of such.
