Byrraju foundation

The Byrraju Foundation was set up in July 2001 in the memory of the Late Byrraju Satyanarayana Raju, the founder of the Satyam group of companies. He was a philanthropist who believed in the development of villages and did all he could to see the quality of rural lives transformed.

The Foundation seeks to build progressive self-reliant rural communities, with a holistic approach, by providing services in the areas of health care, environment, sanitation, primary education, adult literacy and skills development. The Foundation currently works in 180 villages in 6 districts of Andhra Pradesh- East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Ranga Reddy and Visakhapatnam- positively transforming the lives of nearly a million people

Satyam is one of India 's pre-eminent IT companies with a global presence, servicing over 300 multinational corporations of which over 100 are Fortune 500 companies.

An MBA from Ohio University and a participant in the Owner/President program at Harvard. The Byrraju Foundation is a manifestation of his strong sense of commitment to society. He strongly believes the process of Rural Transformation can be accelerated only through the judicious application of Knowledge and Technology.

Maytas Construction is a large civil, structural and construction engineering company. He is driven by a strong commitment for the upliftment of the rural poor.


Rama Raju, B Managing Director, Satyam Computer Services Limited

A Master in Economics from Madras Loyola College and an MBA from Texas A&M. Rama Raju is the Managing Director of Satyam Computer Services Limited. Even as he is fully supportive of the all activities of the Foundation he is passionate about improving the standards of education in rural areas.
