Butlers Lane railway station serves the northern part of the Four Oaks district of Sutton Coldfield, England. It is situated on the Cross-City Line. The station, and all trains calling there are operated by London Midland.
[edit] History
The station was built in 1957, to coincide with the introduction of new diesel multiple units on the line from Birmingham to Lichfield. It became one of the stations served by the new Cross-City Line from 1978. It underwent major refurbishment in 1992, shortly after the line was electrified.
For its first few years the station was an unstaffed halt and a request stop. However in the late 1960s it became a staffed station, and a regular stop.
[edit] Services
Trains operate every 10-20 minutes (Monday-Saturday) between Longbridge and Lichfield via Birmingham New Street, with some trains running south of Longbridge to Redditch. On Sundays, trains run every 30 minutes between Lichfield and Redditch.
