[edit] Birthdate

Busta born in 72? Yea right on ppl. - Support your argument before posting a disagreement.

Apparently he was Henrym 09:00, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

Born 1972, finished university in England, then moved back to USA in 1990? So he finished university before age 18? That sounds early. martin 11:48, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Next single off "The Big Bang

I'm deleting the listing for the 2005 single "Put You Pussy On It" as the second release off "The Big Bang." I cannot find any evidence that this song even exists, let alone that it is being released. Sebastian Prospero 21:32, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Y2K? "Extinction Level Event"

Busta's album, "Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front", is listed on wikipedia as being inspired by the movie "Deep Impact." However, in an Entertainment Weekly article (which contradicts the "Deep Impact" reference) at the time of the album's release (EW issue: 12/18/98, article title: "Busta Moves" by Tom Sinclair), Busta explained that he was part of a religious sect that believed the world was going to end in the year 2000. Busta made statements in that interview that he was preparing for the apocalypse, and that the album's many references to armageddon were based on his actual beliefs. I'd like to know if he is still part of that religious following (or if it folded after the world didn't end 6 years ago) and is he ever made any comments about this issue since (I'm guessing, like everyone who has ever said the world would end and was proven wrong, that he hasn't said anything about it since. Either that, or he says the world was 'saved' from almost ending by the faithful)

    • I believe Busta was a part of The Five Percenters. He's used a lot of 5% terminology in his rhymes. Not sure if they believed the whole "y2k" thing though. 16:12, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivial Trivia?

I removed the trivia "Every song of his contains the words "Flipmode."" because I can find at least two songs in which he does not, in fact, say "Flipmode" (e.g. "Enjoy Da Ride", "Just Give It To Me Raw")

"Has been confronted one by a underground rapper Tragedy Styles" has no source link to confirm/deny, but regardless, does it add any value to the article? Perhaps if there was a specific section regarding beefs or incidents with or other rappers, it might go there.

The trivia point "Has had a flash made off of his song "Break Your Neck", which has an internet cult-hit status" seems somewhat unnecessary and also "cult-hit status" is subjective. I can, however, seeing it being a little more relevent if put in a section or list about "Busta Rhymes in popular culture" or what not.

How is being featured on a DMX track trivia?

[edit] Clean up

This whole article is a chaos. Awfully edited, uncited, picture fair use is highly questionable (it is not an album cover), wikitable, external spam link for mixtapes and so on. Lajbi Holla @ meWho's the boss? 03:50, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I fixed the singles table myself. Lajbi Holla @ meWho's the boss? 03:53, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Style

I think this would be a good source for style: http://rap.about.com/od/reviews/fr/DillaTheShining.htm i.e. it describes his style as agressive, posturing and like a rallying-cry. I think this is better than comments like "He is known for his distinguished style" and "diverse subject matter" which can pretty much be said of anyone.

I think "posturing" and "aggressive" are even MORE typical of most rappers, honestly --Dj snyder 04:48, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birth name

[edit] Image

Sorry, but no one will take this article seriously with a pic like THAT...

Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 --- User:NJ Rock

Unfortunately all those images likely have more copyright issues than the one I just replaced on the page. Someone tried to replace that image and it ended getting deleted. The best bet is to get someone to take a snapshot of the artist and release the photo under the GFDL license that Wikipedia uses. —Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 17:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wow

The "Aftermath" section of this article is so POV that I am tempted to delete the entire section. It is poorly written and written in a conversational tone as if this was his fansite and not a respectable encylopedia. The entire section needs to be rewritten by somebody with some knowledge of the rapper (I personally do not know anything about him). Wikipediarules2221 23:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

In addition, this section has no sources. None of the numerous quotes are sourced. If whoever found these quotes could supply the source, that would be great. If not, this whole section could be deleted because its flaws are so profound and serious that it really hurts the article. Wikipediarules2221 23:16, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] High School Graduate?

I have heard Busta say that he had dropped out of High School. Did he go back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.118.79.155 (talk) 16:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Please sign new comments below the rest. I wouldn't know - it might be more useful to actually make sure he did drop out. --Soetermans (talk) 22:59, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
