[edit] Help requested to identify a jewel beetle

I have just added a photo of a jewel beetle taken earlier this month in Atherton, Queensland, Australia. I wonder if anyone could identify it for me please. (Feel free to add the identification to the image if you are sure of it). Many thanks, John Hill (talk) 22:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE:Help requested to identify a jewel beetle

I believe it's a Cotton Harlequin Bug (Tectocoris diophthalmus, Family Scutelleridae) http://www.austmus.gov.au/factSheets/true_bugs.htm Although it isn't a buprestid, they are still really cool looking; I wish we had them in the US :D JimtheEvil (talk) 10:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
