Bunche Middle School is located in the Ben Hill community, off Campbellton Road in fast-developing southwest Atlanta, Georgia. It is the feader school of Fickett and Therell High School.

Bunche is known for its football team and cheerleading squad. It also fields teams for basketball, soccer, softball, dance, and track.

More than 90% of eighth graders met or exceeded the performance target established by the state on the 2003 Georgia Middle Grades Writing Assessment (MGWA). Bunche has made the writing target more than 7 years in a row
For the 2005-2006 academic year, Bunche made it off the AYP list and scored the state average overall.
The school also received a Bronze award in 2007-2008 for its outstanding achievement.

Ralph J Bunche was an outstanding leader in the African American community. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1903, he was a talker in class but received good grades. When Bunche grew up he got involved in the United Nations and was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
