- I've gone and cleaned up the article, to specify that a "bullet loan" is one where at least the entire principal is due at the end, and added another ref. I haven't found anything which calls a partially-amortizing balloon payment loan a "bullet loan", so I've eliminated that from the article. Αργυριου (talk) 06:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

- As bullet loan is an informal (not legal) term, it is used in many different ways (like balloon loan/balloon payment loan); but primarily for loans with no amortisation. The bullet payment being large is the key distinction; very often, it's just referred to as a loan with a bullet payment (the non-amortised portion). That said, I've no problem leaving it the way it is. I can't say for certain, but it may be that it's a regional question - I've never heard balloon loan outside a US context.--Gregalton 07:27, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
