Bulgarian Muslims

Bulgarian Muslims are all people of Islamic faith, who live on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.

According to Census 2001, 966 978 people or 12.2% of the population of Bulgaria is Muslim. Most of them are of Turkish and Roma nationality. Another sizable group are of Bulgarian nationality and are usually called Muslim Bulgarians.
