It's a good way of fitting in, if you're a member of a moderate political group, than you're less likely to be a terrorist, in common-sense. -- user:zanimum
Seems to me the best way to avoid detection, would be to avoid all political contact, then you would stay off the political radar. Most Americans don't have a strong political affliation, so to me this couldn't have helped them avoid detection, instead they were probably just against the incumbent republicans.--M4bwav 21:11, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

It's likely all terrorists and their supporters would oppose the incumbent Republicans and be far more friendly toward Democrats. The Factoid is relevant, however, in that it describes the depth of their integration into American society despite being active in al Qaeda terrorism. --DanKorn 05:05, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
