[edit] Summary

Amateur modeller's Brewster Buffalo of 488 Squadron, RNZAF, which was in Singapore at the time of the Battle of Malaya. Tamiya's painting guide lists the aircraft as 448 Squadron, instead of 488.

This aircraft was flown by Flight Officer Noel Sharp. He claimed 3 Japanese aircraft with this Buffalo (Fighter Probable 12 January, Ki-43 Oscar 13 January, A6M Zero 17 January) and damaged 2 bombers on 20 January before being shot down on January 17, probably grounding the aircraft. He was killed sometime in 1942 flying a Hawker Hurricane. The reptile insignia is probably the unit emblem.
