Buford Middle School

Buford Middle School is a school in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The school is named in honor of Florence Buford, a Charlottesville educator, and first opened its doors in August of 1966. In 1988, Buford became the city’s only middle school. Currently, 612 students are enrolled. The current principal, Eric Johnson, came to Buford this year. Buford has a boy's and girl's basketball team, a cheerleading squad, a softball team, a baseball team, and a lacrosse team.
Buford is 7th and 8th grades, and it feeds into Charlottesville High School. Walker Upper Elementary School generally feeds into Buford.
The mission of Buford Middle School is to provide middle school students with a developmentally appropriate education in a safe and healthy climate that will ensure success for every student.
