The Buff-throated Purpletuft (Iodopleura pipra) is a species of bird in the Tityridae family. It has traditionally been placed in the cotinga family, but evidence strongly suggest it is better placed in Tityridae[1], where now placed by SACC. It is endemic to Atlantic forest in Brazil.
It is threatened by habitat loss.
