This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I have to use a proxy to connect to the internet. As for being a sockpuppet, all my accounts are like this. There is no main account. Neither using a proxy nor using "sockpuppets" are forbidden by policy."

Decline reason: "Editting from an open proxy is forbidden, and those open proxies were used abusively. Unless you're Chinese, I suggest you edit from a standard IP.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:05, 4 March 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Actually, editing from an open proxy is prohibited: meta:Meta:No open proxies. Why can't you edit via your regular IP? As for sockpuppet accounts, they are allowed, but not if you engage in the same edit war with two different names. Part Deux 15:09, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
I telecommute and I have to use a proxy in order to establish a remote desktop connection. The proxy is necessary for security reasons and it also speeds up my connection. I also doubt that the proxy is "open" in the sense of being accessable to outsiders. I wasn't using multiple accounts to edit war, either.--Buenos días 15:25, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I agree your block seems a little extreme. You violated 3RR, though, and on WP:V (the redirect) of all places, a very disruptive place to do that. I'll bring up my concerns with the blocking admin. Mangojuicetalk 05:22, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
As a curious onlooker, I would like to know if it is possible to know what all the other accounts are so I can just assess the validity of use of multiple accounts. Also, I should add that WP:V seems to be the logical place for several subjects (verifiability, vandalism, vanity). Make sure your changes represent the general consensus. Redirect changes on wikipedia pages are likely to be a minority opinion. Tread carefully with such changes. However, adding hatnotes to remove ambiguity can be helpful. I agree that there is some confusion. Here is how I handled confusion at WP:VAN which leads to vandalism, but could be a place where people land when looking for vanity information. I have added to the hatnote at WP:V just now because I agree with your concern. TonyTheTiger 23:45, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Proxies are slower, not faster, and the reason claimed for using them is bogus. You were using proxies that had been used for a lot of vandalism and nonsense. Please use your real account instead. Jayjg (talk) 17:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

P.S. I am not necessarily a model wikipedia citizen. However, I call your attention to how I am working toward clarifying your concern:
