[edit] Developing this article
The article Buddhist art would be a good model to follow to develop this. I have added a section 'Early development' which needs more work. this could be followed by sections on the main characteristic features (temples, stupas, etc) then on regional development, a lot of which could be covered by links to existing articles such as 'dzong architecture'.
