Your recent edit to the Spider-Man's powers and equipment article has been reverted because it contained information banned by Wikipedia policy. The articles devoted to comic book characters are comprised of information taken from a character's appearance in regular monthly comic book titles over the years and are fair game. However, the various power stats are found only within special encyclopedic comics, such as Marvel's Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and DC's Who's Who in the DC Universe. These stats might be occassionlly found in other publications, such as Wizard Magazine, with Marvel Comics' permission. Wikipedia doesn't have their permission to use them in the articles and if their use in the articles were allowed and encouraged by Wikipedia administration, it would be a violation of copyright law. As a result, Marvel Comics could seek legal action. The only way a strength stat can be mentioned is if how much weight a character can lift is mentioned in a regular monthly comic book title. However, that almost never happens as far as I know. After an editor has been made aware of the policy and he or she continues to add the stats, it will be considered as vandalism. Consistent vandalism can result in an editor being temporarily or, in very rare cases, permanently banned.Odin's Beard 01:44, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
