[edit] Buck Brothers
Buck Brothers are a British 3 piece band who recently broke a Guinness Book of World Records entry for the "highest number of gigs performed in a 12 hour period" in their native London. This took place on 5 March 2007.
Buck Brothers formed early in 2005 via a chance meeting at the unlikely location of a Buddhist Disco in a North London suburb where Andy, Craig and Dom set eyes on each other for the first time.
The trio recently gained international media attention for successfully breaking a world record for the "highest number of gigs performed in a 12 hour period" on 5th March 2007 to mark the release of the band's debut album 'Me' in the UK and North America on Cargo Records and Scratch Records respectively. The band performed 28 gigs in 10 and a half hours beating the previous world record, held by Hamburg band 'Kansas' by 2 shows.
Buck Brothers debut album was licensed to MTV for inclusion on their television series 'My Super Sweet 16' and the band's tracks 'Gorgeously Stupid', 'Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes' and 'She's Red' have all been featured in the current 2007 programme.
On July 7, 2007, Buck Brothers supported Primal Scream at Столпотворени Music Festival in Moscow. The band toured North America in March 2008 including three performances at SXSW (South By South West) in Austin, Texas.
The band have been nominated for numerous independent music awards:
- Southern California Music Awards (USA) - 2006 (Best International Artist)
- Orange County Music Awards (USA) - 2006 (Best International Artist)
- Toronto Independent Music Awards (Canada) - 2005 & 2006 (Best International Artist)
BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton called Buck Brothers "a band to look out for in 2007" on her radio in January of that same year.
