[edit] Fair Usage Rationale
The image is at low resolution and is of the front of the single cover which is discussed in the article. It does not reduce the copyright holder's ability to market the product: images of the cover are widely available on the web.
The cover is of particular significance to the single (and to the history of acid house music covers) and is critically discussed in the article with reference to the image.
Since the cover is copyright, there is no free content replacement.
Please note: The discussion in this article specifically relates to the cover, and the usage and prevalence of the "acid house" logo featured on it.
[edit] Licensing
This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
